Eyes On The Sky

Sydney airport. Yesterday. Strong winds reduced take off and landings to one runway.

It was amazing to sit in the plane and watch through the left window aircraft with bright headlights in the sky coming in to land. Stacking one behind the other awaiting their turn to land. Then through the right window seeing aircraft taking off inbetween others landing.

Just one runway was in use due to extreme winds and we waited an hour in an aircraft line. As we hurtled along the runway we saw a line of six aircraft awaiting their turn.

It was amazing to witness this level of air traffic control competence. Gratitude to all pilots and skilled ground crew all over the world.
