One of my Western teachers once said to me … “practice dying before you die, so that when you die you don’t die’.
The paradox of these words has stayed with me ever since. In 2010, we attended, by invitation, a Western Bali cremation, a purification rite that frees the soul for the next birth. Bali life and death combines Hindu elements and Balinese culture. Ā We were invited to take as many photos as we wanted.
